The Red Devils closed 2022 with three consecutive victories and advanced at least temporarily to the fourth place that guarantees a ticket in the group stage of the Champions League.
Despite the many shortcomings in defense, David de Gea did not concede again and in attack it was Marcus Rashford who scored for the third time in a row and secured the three points.

Three days before the top-flight battle against Arsenal, the Magpies' run came to a halt after six consecutive wins in the league and thus missed an opportunity to equal the number of points with second-placed Manchester City.
Another loss of points against the leader midweek, and Eddie Howe's team will see how the hot ones behind them close the gap and maybe even overtake her.
The exciting moment in the match happened even before it started, when the player of the Brazilian national team Bruno Guimaraes went up for the minute's silence in memory of Pele wearing the Selção shirt.
