EC Peiting has ended its dry spell in the Oberliga.

However, the game on Monday evening at EHC Klostersee was not a sure-fire success.

Grafing – The result wasn't quite as clear as in the first direct duel with the promoted team from Grafing (7:0), but EC Peiting certainly didn't care.

With a 6:3 victory at EHC Klostersee, the team from the market town ended the most recent slump in the ice hockey league with two clear defeats (1:6 against Bad Tölz, 1:8 in Weiden).

Peiting's coach Anton Saal was "happy" with the result.

According to him, the two defeats in the run-up had already had an effect.

"You noticed that the boys had to nibble," said Saal.

That's why the win was important.

Ultimately, the goals were "scored at the right time", even if the team sometimes "didn't necessarily play enough" with a majority.

For Dominik Quinlan, coach of EHC Klostersee, the guests' victory was okay: "Peiting was smarter.

We lost it in the second third.” Quinlan was particularly dissatisfied with his team's defensive performance in the middle section.

The people of Peiting went into the first third break with a 1:2 deficit.

The two goals conceded fell into the category "unusual".

Before the 0:1 (3rd minute) Marco Habermann wanted to play the puck across behind the goal, but a referee stood in the way.

The disc was unluckily deflected by his skate, and the agile Lynnden hit Pastachak.

At 0:2 (15th), EHC player Julian Dengl brought the puck in the direction of the goal;

ECP captain Andreas Feuerecker's disc bounced off so badly that it flew into the net like an arc lamp.

Due to two or three other top-class (counter) chances, the lead was not undeserved.

On the other side, Peiting had established himself several times in the attacking zone and fired various shots.

Marco Habermann, David Diebolder, Felix Brassard and Marco Niewollik each failed.

In addition, two power plays (4th, 11th) remained unused.

Shortly before the first siren the guests were allowed to cheer.

Following a face-off, Tobias Beck pulled from the blue line – the score was 1:2 (19th).

"That gave us a bit of a boost," said Saal.

At the start of the second third, the ECP was missing Sean Morgan;

he had taken a hard check after ten minutes.

Apparently, that didn't throw the guests off the hook.

The 2-2 equalizer was soon achieved: after great preliminary work by Louis Postel, Brassard scored (24').

Peiting kept up the steam.

Now it was Brassard who shone as an assist: Manuel Bartsch benefited from his solo and cross pass and skillfully made it 3-2 (28th).

Bartsch had recently lost an unfortunate figure in the 1: 6 against Bad Tölz - it's that fast.

With a powerful slap shot, Alexander Winkler even increased the lead to 4:2 (33rd);

Thomas Heger found his way into the game report as a goal scorer.

After that, the ECP survived a double shorthand (34th) lasting 56 seconds.

But Klostersee did not give up,

Klostersee had the first huge chance in the final third through Ville Vesalainen (42nd).

A power play on the other side brought many Peitinger shots - but no hits.

Peiting's Quirin Spies got a bloody nose in a scuffle with Matthias Baumhackl (47').

This resulted in a Peitinger power play and, after another penalty, 70 seconds in double the majority (51st).

Heger failed twice before scoring the decisive 5:3 (52nd).

Peiting then fended off a few more attacks with a lot of effort, David Miller made everything clear with the Empty Net goal to make it 6:3 (59 th ).
