There has been no trace of ex-soccer player Dirk Brünker for over a week.
The father of Magdeburg professional Kai Brünker once played with Joachim Löw.
Update from January 2, 8:47 a.m.:
Dirk Brünker was not found in the new year either.
There is "still no trace" of the missing 61-year-old, police said on New Year's Day.
He has been missing for almost a week and a half, he did not return from a pub crawl in Villingen, Baden, on December 23.
The father of the Magdeburg professional Kai Brünker used to be a footballer as well.
He played for FC 08 Villingen for a long time, and for a short time also for SC Freiburg, where he was in the squad together with world champion coach Jogi Löw in 1988/89.
The police investigated in all directions and checked Brünker's former place of work.
The missing person was last seen by a police patrol 600 meters from his home address.
Before that he stayed at the “Ott” inn.
What happened on the way home is completely open.

German soccer professional Kai Brünker has been looking for his father Dirk with emergency services since Christmas Eve.
This had not returned after a pub crawl in Villingen in Baden.
A search operation on Wednesday with 100 police officers was unsuccessful, which is why friends and acquaintances are now increasingly being questioned.
The 61-year-old was last seen the day before Christmas Eve, and the search for the father of the Magdeburg attacker has been ongoing ever since.

Kai Brünker himself comes from the town on the edge of the Black Forest.
In the past few days, the police have been looking for the 61-year-old with hundreds and a helicopter without success and are now questioning friends and acquaintances.
The police are currently assuming an accident, but a crime cannot be ruled out.

Second division professional asks for help – his father is missing: "Please report"
Kai Brünker, who has been playing for Magdeburg since 2020, has meanwhile asked the population via Instagram for information.
"Every tip is important.
If anyone noticed anything unusual, please report it," wrote the football professional.
He hopes his father will show up.

"Everything is completely open," said the police spokesman.
The search is still focused on the route from Gasthaus Ott to Brünker's home address.
The last time the missing person was seen was at the inn.
Numerous citizens took part in the search, which unfortunately has so far been unsuccessful.

People who have seen the missing person or who can provide information about his whereabouts are asked to contact the police on 07721/601-0. Dirk Brünker is 1.90 meters tall and slim, according to the police description of the person .
