66-year-old Martina Navratilova, the greatest tennis player of all time according to many, announced today (Monday) that she was diagnosed with two types of cancer, throat and breast, and that she "vowed to fight with everything I have".
Navratilova, nine-time Wimbledon Grand Slam winner as well as three-time Australian champion, twice at Roland Garros in France and four-time US Open champion, was tested and diagnosed with blue after discovering that the lymph nodes in her neck were swollen.
"This is a double and serious problem, but one that can be fixed. I hope for good news. It will be a stinking time, but I will fight with everything I have," said the Czech-born American who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010.
According to the announcement made by its representatives, "both types of cancer were diagnosed when they were in the initial stages."
Fingers crossed for her.
