Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers made spectacular use of their first match point to reach the playoffs in the NFL professional football league.
In the duel with pursuer Carolina Panthers, the team around the star quarterback prevailed 30:24 thanks to a strong fourth quarter, at the beginning of the final section the Bucs were still 10:21 behind.
“That feels great.
I'm really proud of our team.
We got through some tough moments over the past few months," Brady said.
Thanks to the success, the 2021 Super Bowl winner made the victory in the NFC South perfect before the last matchday, despite a moderate record.
Brady, 45, who is in the playoffs for the 14th year in a row, contributed three touchdown passes and went without an interception to his team's eighth win in 16 games of the season.
St. Browns brother duel
Also in the playoffs - and for the first time since 2016 - are the New York Giants after 38:10 at the Indianapolis Colts.
In the fraternal duel of the German-American passport recipients, Amon-Ra St. Brown with his Detroit Lions also clearly prevailed 41:10 against the Chicago Bears with Equanimeous St. Brown.
The Lions kept their playoff chances.
The Green Bay Packers around star quarterback Aaron Rodgers are just one win away from making the playoffs.
The Packers dominated the Minnesota Vikings 41-17 (27-3) and scored their eighth win in the 16th game of the American Football League season.
With a win on the last day of the main round against the Detroit Lions, the Packers would be in the finals.
