Donovan Mitchell was responsible tonight (between Monday and Tuesday) for one of the greatest performances in NBA history, when he scored 71 points in Cleveland's 134:145 victory over Chicago after overtime.
After several nights of performances from Luka Doncic, (night provided another one as well), Mitchell was everywhere on the floor as he produced a stat line that you don't see every day with 22-of-34 from the field and 20-of-25 from the free throw line, plus 11 assists, 8 rebounds and 1 block.

This is the highest number of points scored this season by one player and a franchise record for a Cubs player.
And if that's not enough, it's actually the eighth straight performance by a player in the best league in the world and the most points since Kobe Bryant's 81 points in the memorable game against Toronto on January 22, 2006.
It should be noted that the all-time record is held by Wilt Chamberlain, who scored 100 points in the memorable game in 1962.
Mitchell's rare night swept the Cubs and helped them come back from a 21-point deficit en route to overtime and an unforgettable victory in the end.
Even earlier, 3 seconds to the end of the legal time, Mitchell stood on the penalty line, but missed on purpose, caught the rebound and provided 2 points from another world, just like Luka Doncic less than a week ago.

In overtime, Mitchell scored all 13 of the Cubs' points with the rest of his teammates scoring just two points.
Just hard to catch.
The Cubs, who went up 14:24, also got 21 points from Jarrett Allen.
On the other side, 44 points and a great game by DeMar DeRozan, this time really wasn't enough for the Bulls.
