Damar Hamlin received many prayers and expressions of support, one of which particularly caught the eye.
In critical condition after suffering a cardiac arrest during the game against Cincinnati, the Buffalo Bills player launched a fundraiser in December 2020. The goal was to raise at least $2,500 to distribute toys to children in difficulties after the pandemic.
Following the player's illness, the sum raised rose to 3.7 million dollars, or 3.5 million euros.
The American footballer had created the Chasing M's foundation, whose first campaign concerned this collection of toys.
This was to take place on a local scale, the games were to be distributed to a daycare center in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, Hamlin's birthplace.
