The issue of Robert Lewandowski's suspension continues to stir up Barcelona.
The Blaugrana star was punished before the break by being banned from three league games, the club appealed and thus allowed the Pole to play in the derby against Espanyol, but this evening (Wednesday) the appeal was rejected and the punishment remained.
As you may remember, Lewandowski was punished following an incident that occurred in the match against Ossuna before the World Cup break, when he made a disrespectful gesture towards referee Heil Mansano who sent him off with a red card.
The league administration added a suspension that he was supposed to start serving in the derby against Espanyol, but Barcelona's appeal led to a postponement at the beginning of the penalty so Lewandowski played in the disappointing 1-1 draw in the derby last Saturday.

The first match from which Lewandowski is supposed to be absent is the top flight against Atlético Madrid this coming Sunday, and the club hopes that the submission of the additional appeal will at least "postpone the end" once more.
If Lewandowski does start serving his suspension against the Colchoneros, the next two games he will miss will be against Getafe and Girona.
The punishment is valid for the league games only, so Lewandowski will not be suspended from the Spanish Supercup games that will take place this month.
