An interesting signing for Hapoel Jerusalem.
The team from the capital announced today (Wednesday) the signing of Noam Yaakov, one of the promising talents of Israeli basketball.
18-year-old Noam (1.85) joins the Jerusalem staff on loan from Villerban until the end of the current season.
Noam, a graduate of Emek Hefer's youth department, joined the Villerban basketball academy about a year and a half ago.
In 13 games this season in the youth league in France, Noam averaged 17.8 points, 8.1 assists, 5.7 rebounds and 37.5% from beyond the arc.
The team's coach Alexander Dzikic said: "Noam Yaakov is a young and very talented player, with a great 'upside' and a very high glass ceiling.
Our situation is known to everyone - the injury of Noam Dovarat changed everything, so I hope that Noam Yaakov will be able to help us until the end of the season.'
Noam Yaakov said: "I am very excited to come to Hapoel Jerusalem."
There is an ideal situation here for me to make the first jump to a group of graduates.
I am joining a group that has already started to connect and I hope I can help with anything that is required of me.
I'm excited to start working with coach Dzikic and I'm sure I'll be able to learn a lot from his tremendous experience and from all the players around me.
I am of course also looking forward to my first meeting with the fans in the arena, and hope that together we can make a special season.
Come on hapoel!".
