Barcelona returned from the break with a very disappointing 1:1 at home in the derby against Espanyol and last night (Wednesday) Xavi's team almost recorded a sensational elimination from the cup, but a goal by Enso Fati in the 104th minute of extra time gave the Catalans a dramatic 3:4 over Intercity from the third division.
The suspended Lewandowski did not play, but Ronald Araujo staged a comeback and also scored the first for Barca, who grabbed a hat-trick from Soldavilia.
The Catalan media did not feel sorry for Xavi after the game and one of the journalists asked him how Barca put themselves in such a ridiculous position.
The coach replied: "Seven teams from the top league were eliminated. Are we ridiculous? This is a question unrelated to football. You can't be satisfied when you concede three goals. On the offensive level, we were good but not effective."
Almost a surprise.

"We suffered too much but we know how it is in the cup," added Xavi, "we still lack efficiency. We created enough chances to finish the game in 90 minutes. We are happy with the game, but not with what happened inside the box. We know how it is trophy. The opponent is highly motivated. We made the game difficult. In general, I'm satisfied."
Pablo Torre was praised for his ability in the game, but the one who received severe criticism was Fran Torres who missed a lot of situations and in the media the Catalans cut: "He is in catastrophic shape and tonight was no exception. He recorded 3 misses that could have ended the game long before."

Ronald Araujo, the Uruguayan defender who missed the World Cup and returned to the Barcelona lineup last night, concluded: "I really wanted to play in the World Cup but it's already behind me. On Sunday we have a final against Atlético Madrid. The cup is not easy, we've seen it in recent years and we have to learn from it."
