Sad news for TSV 1860. Shortly before his 80th birthday, champion lion Hans Rebele did not wake up after a serious operation.
Munich – Deep sadness at TSV 1860. Hans Rebele passed away on Wednesday evening.
Three weeks before his 80th birthday.
Rebele had undergone open-heart surgery after a heart attack in the Munich South Clinic in the morning.
Born in Munich, he switched to the youth team at the age of ten and was involved in all the great successes of the 1960s: German Cup winner in 1964, participation in the 1965 European Cup final against West Ham United and, to top it off, winning the German championship in 1966 .

Rebele played 115 Bundesliga games for the Blues between 1963 and 1969, after relegation in 1970 he returned to Grünwalder Straße for two years in the South Regional League.
The striker, who was mostly used as a left winger, also played two senior internationals.
Bernd Patzke, Rebele's teammate and friend to the end, was shocked when he heard the news: "I'm so sorry.
It's really hard to take.”
