The sports world mourns the loss of skiing icon Rosi Mittermaier.
The mother of Felix and Ameli Neureuther died on January 4th, now the daughter expresses herself.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen - It was a shock in the winter sports world.
Ski icon Rosi Mittermaier died on January 4th.
She became a legend at the 1976 Olympic Games and was nicknamed "Gold-Rosi" from then on.
For many young ski fans she was a role model and the reason why they took to the slopes.
She had two children with her husband Christian Neureuther: son Felix, who also became a skier, and daughter Ameli, who inherited the creative gene.

Ameli Neureuther also said goodbye to her mother on Instagram.
With two photos in the story, she shares her sadness with the public in a few words.
Ameli, born in 1981, is almost three years older than her famous brother, who was commentating on a race on the anniversary of her mother's death.
The older sister gave birth to son Oskar in 2015, one of Rosis' four grandchildren.
She writes about herself on her homepage: "I am passionate about experimenting with different media and am interested in the contrast between a pencil on paper and the modern iPad".
The artist shared two thoughts about Mama Rosi for her followers, who was diagnosed with cancer six months ago: "The sky shines.
With eternal love and gratitude.”

Daughter Ameli Neureuther was Rosis' eldest child and inherited the artist genes from her father
Brother Felix or his wife Miriam have so far been reluctant to make public statements about their mother's death.

She inherited the talent for art and creativity from the Neureuther side.
Christian's great-grandfather was Eugen Napoleon Neureuther, a painter who illustrated poems by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.
The "Neureutherstraße" in Munich is named after Eugen's brother Gottfried, who is also an artist.
A year before Rosi's death, husband Christian also made public an illness that almost cost him his life.
Not only Ameli, but also the grand of the sports world commented on the death of Rosi Mittermaier.
Ski legend Markus Wasmeier found emotional words, as did Maria Höfl-Riesch and FC Bayern President Herbert Hainer.
