Munich – On her last journey, Rosi Mittermaier, who died on Wednesday after a serious illness, was accompanied by all sorts of moving words and touching sentences.
From them it is easy to read that Germany and especially Upper Bavaria has lost more than just a two-time Olympic champion and a ski icon with "Gold-Rosi".
The grandmother of four always wanted to be more than just a sports star.
And she lived that too.
In public, but probably much more in a small circle.
This is one of the reasons why Markus Wasmeier's words should get under your skin, because the two-time Olympic champion from Lillehammer in 1994 can count himself among the friends of the family.

In addition to their Upper Bavarian homeland, they were not only united by their passion for skiing.
To list the many joint appearances at public events without gaps would be a masterpiece.
