Gianluca Vialli, the former Italian footballer, who coached Chelsea and Watford, passed away today (Friday) at the age of 59 after a long battle with cancer.
Viali faced the serious illness for the second time and surrendered.
About two and a half weeks ago, the health condition of the legendary former striker deteriorated and he was admitted to the hospital in London, where he lived.
Vialli began his career at Carmona in 1980, and in 1984 was signed by Sampdoria, in Media he won one Serie A championship and three Italian Cups.
Later he also played for Juventus and the English Chelsea, with whom he continued to win many titles.
Viali is one of only nine footballers to have won all three major European titles - the Champions League, the European Cup Holders Cup and the UEFA Cup.

Under Viali's guidance as a coach, Chelsea won both the Football League Cup and the Holders Cup at the end of the 1997/1998 season, and also finished fourth in the Premier League.
In the 1998/1999 season, Vialli led Chelsea to win the European Super Cup, as well as third place in the league, just four points behind champions Manchester United - the club's greatest achievement since 1970.
In 2006 Viali published a book called "The Italian Job", which deals with the differences between Italian and English football.
In 2007, he was mentioned as a candidate to coach the Queens Park Rangers team after the dismissal of John Gregory, but refused to be appointed to the position.
