This Friday, on the Algerian channel TV3, the president of the federation (FAF), Djahid Zefizef, announced that Houssem Aouar, 24, the OL midfielder, would soon wear the Fennecs jersey.
"Houssem Aouar has given us his agreement to join the Algerian selection," said the leader.
We are also in discussion with Amine Gouiri
(Editor's note: Rennes striker)
, however, nothing has been decided yet.

Houssem Aouar already has a selection with the France team but it was during a friendly match (7-1 against Ukraine in October 2020).
It is therefore quite possible for him to change sporting nationality, the meeting not counting as an official match.
According to Aouar's entourage, who has spent his entire career in the Rhône (Villeurbanne then OL) and worn the blue jersey under 17 (once) and in the hopes (17 selections, 4 goals), nothing has not been recorded even if the trend seems favourable.
Asked at a press conference, Amine Gouiri does not say he is aware of the existence of discussions with the Algerian football federation regarding a possible selection.#FCGBSRFC https://t.co/7LgOyblMOM

Indeed, the Lyonnais has not reappeared in the France team since 2020 and the probable extension of Didier Deschamps does not encourage him to be optimistic on the side held at the two stars.
His choice should be communicated before the next deadlines of the Fennecs in the CAN playoffs (two games against Niger on March 20 and 28).
In the case of Gouiri, who has attended all the blue-white-red selections since the under 16s, it seems very unlikely to see the Bleuet land in the short term in the group of Djamel Belmadi.
There is indeed a Euro hopes to be played in Romania and Georgia from June 21 to July 8.
For the person concerned, there is not even a subject.
"I'm not aware of it," said the 22-year-old Stade Rennes striker during a club press conference before the Coupe de France.
For the moment I am in the France U23 team.
We have the Euro at the end of the season to prepare.
Today I am concentrating on Stade Rennes.
