The Portuguese superstar with five Golden Balls was imposed this sanction at the end of November by the English authorities for having snatched his mobile phone from a young Everton fan during a Premier League match played last season.
The English Football Association then specified that this sanction would apply regardless of the destination of Ronaldo, who had broken his contract with Manchester United and was then without a club.
“
This suspension will be applicable once he has been officially registered
,” an Al Nassr club official confirmed on Friday.
Ronaldo is committed until 2025 with the Saudi club for emoluments estimated at 200 million euros over the duration of his contract.
He has not yet been registered by the Saudi football authorities, Al Nassr first having to get rid of one of his foreign players to comply with the quota of foreign nationals authorized in the Saudi championship (eight per club).
