Four Hills Tournament: final jumping in Bischofshofen today in the live ticker

First report from January 6, 2:58 p.m .:

Bischofshofen – The good news in advance: The suffering tour from a German perspective ends today.

The jumping in Bischofshofen is the conclusion of one of the most disastrous chapters in recent DSV ski jumping history.

National coach Stefan Horngacher drew a devastating conclusion after qualifying on Thursday: "That's one of the most bitter things we've experienced here since I've been a coach."

First Karl Geiger's qualification, then not even a jumper among the top twelve - the DSV-Adler had reached the preliminary low point at the third station of the Four Hills Tournament in Innsbruck.

The atmosphere in the team was "crappy", said Markus Eisenbichler briefly, and Horst Hüttel classified the events.

"As a team, we were seldom as far apart as we are at the moment." The team manager of the German Ski Association had to admit that.

While the dominators of the winter are circling alone at the top of the tour, the German team remains only the spectator.

Halvor Egner Granerud, Dawid Kubacki, Anze Lanisek: The three leaders in the Tournament and World Cup also fought for victory on Wednesday.

Although there are "a few indications" of possible backlogs, Horngacher nevertheless held the entire team responsible: "Everyone is now thinking about certain things that we have to do." Eagles at the tour finals in Bischofshofen.

However, qualifying on Thursday did not go as planned.

Although all seven jumpers qualified for the final competition on Friday (4.30 p.m. / ZDF and Eurosport), Constantin Schmid did not get more than 13th place.

It was “not only light, but also shadow,” Horngacher summed up.

In addition to a few bright spots - above all the young Philipp Raimund, the 13th best German in Innsbruck - the return of Karl Geiger also gave hope for a happy end to this messed-up tour.

The former German hopeful reported back in Bischofshofen with a jump of 126 meters - eleven meters behind the once again superior Granerud.

How are the Germans doing and who will win the tour?

It starts at 4.30 p.m.
