Former Italy star striker Gianluca Vialli has died at the age of 58 from cancer.
This was confirmed by his former club Sampdoria Genoa on Friday morning.
Vialli was a champion as a player with both Genoa and Juventus in the 1990s, and he won the European Cup Winners' Cup with Chelsea.
He later switched to coaching, at Chelsea he acted as player-coach.
As head of the Italian delegation at the 2021 European Championships, he won the European title.
He was already marked by cancer, Vialli had made his illness public in 2018.
