The second round of the Winner national league opened today (Friday) with two away victories by the top teams from Ashkelon and Nahariya.
Avi Sukar's team came back to win and scored 88:74 in Rehovot after already falling behind by 16 points in the first quarter.
Ironi Nahariya beat Maccabi Ironi Ramat Gan and also came back to win after the loss at home to Maccabi in the middle of the week.
Maccabi Municipal Ramat Gan - Municipal Nahariya 81:75
A fascinating game in Zisman ends with a narrow victory for Ironi Nahariya, who led throughout most of the game.
Shai Seglovic's team wanted to take another step on the way to the top and opened the game with 8 of 11 from outside the arc (12 three-pointers in 46 percent of the game) on the way to a promising 44:35 halftime lead.
But in the third quarter the host managed to come back and forced a close game with the good ability of Harel Dadon and Daniel Rosenbaum.
Towards the end, three-pointers by Dolev Drapich and Isaiah Eisendorf plus a big block by Yogev Ohion on Elijah Hirsch gave the Purples a valuable away victory.
For Maccabi Ramat Gan:
Kevin Kipers (4/10 for threes) 20 points, Harel Dedon 19 points, Elijah Hirsch 12 points, Sean Evans (10 rebounds) 10 points, Daniel Rosenbaum 9 points, Idan Alber 5 No.

Maccabi Rehovot - Elizur with Ashkelon 88:74
In the first quarter it seemed that Elizur LSports' losing streak with Ashkelon was getting longer, after Maccabi Rehovot managed to run 2-21 and led 16:32 at the end.
But Avi Sukar's ace today was Yanir Binyamin (20 points) who slowly led a turnaround with his teammates.
The southerners provided a great defense in the second and third quarters and managed to gain a lead that was maintained until the end of the game.
The winner overcame Brent Jackson's 35 points, but apart from him, no player in Rehovot scored in double figures.
