After four defeats in a row, the Tölzer Löwen welcome leader Weiden – Ladies Night at the home game
Bad Tölz – Every point against this opponent is a surprise: The Blue Devils Weiden have hardly lost a point this season, are by far the top league leaders and are way ahead in all statistics: This Sunday at 5 p.m. the Tölzer Löwen welcome the undisputed leader.
Once they managed to surprise.
But does it work this time too - of all things after four defeats in a row?
Ready for a surprise?
At least some support should gather in the stadium: At the home game, the lions organize a “Ladies Night”.
Women can buy seated and standing room tickets for ten euros at the box office.
In addition, all students have free entry upon presentation of a valid student ID.
But the lions also have to show a reaction on the ice.
The last home game ended 3:5 after a poor performance against table penultimate HC Landsberg.
However, coach Ryan Foster was unable to find out how he intends to prepare the team for the game against the leaders: The lion coach could not be reached by phone on Friday despite several attempts.
Goal shots too harmless or unplaced
The Buam have to show an increase in many areas.
They were too easy to counter, too many targets were lost, too many shots on goal were too unplaced or too harmless.
In addition, it can be assumed that the Blue Devils Weiden will be much stronger than Landsberg, who consistently used their chances on Wednesday in Tölz.
Leader without a weak point
A weakness can hardly be identified in the leader.
Weiden has scored the most goals, proves to be very efficient in the danger zone and doesn't hesitate long in the end.
The Blue Devils don't have one outstanding player, but they do have a lot of strikers high up in the top scorer list.
They concede few goals, have strong special teams, and collect the fewest penalties.
After all, the lions kept up in the previous duels and made the games balanced.
In the first encounter, the Upper Palatinate won an exciting match 3:1.
Away from home, the Buam got a point after extra time with a strong performance at the beginning of December.
Nirschl fit again, but not fit enough
The Tölzer squad has hardly increased.
At least Ludwig Nirschl has gotten back into team training.
The 22-year-old feels fit again after his concussion, but it is unlikely that he will be able to play this weekend.
