A significant boost to Zalgiris Kovna:
the Lithuanian team announced today (Saturday) the addition of the Italian forward, Aquila Pollonara, who was also mentioned as a candidate to join Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Polunara, who joined the Euroleague champion Anadolu Zero this summer, had trouble fitting into Ergin Ataman's squad and received very few minutes in the Turkish team's uniform.
Now, he joins the Lithuanian team that is surprisingly good in the European factory and is placed in eighth place at the end of the first round.
Zalgiris, who last week lost their center Keenan Evans who ended the season in the great victory over Fenerbahce, is expected to look for additional reinforcements to the back line.
As a reminder, this year's Final Four will be held at Zalgirio Arena in Kuban.
