Rosi Mittermaier: picture book marriage with Christian Neureuther

Something that people in the Mittermaier-Neureuther family can be extremely proud of, for example, is the picture book marriage between Rosi and Christian.

The fact that mom didn't tell Felix at first that she herself was once a top skier makes her even more likeable - Rosi Mittermaier never wanted to be the center of attention, never wanted to be a big star.

She just had fun skiing alive.

This is how the winter sports world will always remember her.

And of course Rosi Mittermaier was also a person with whom you could laugh a lot.

Some of their anecdotes from their successful skiing career will provide amusement for a long time, for example the following.

After Mittermaier won two golds and one silver at the 1976 Olympics, she was the star par excellence.

“In the Olympic village I got bathtubs full of flowers.

It was only later that I realized what had happened there," Mittermaier said in 2020.

After her great success, she was suddenly recognized everywhere.

Everyone wanted to be very close to Rosi.

It even went so far "that people drove their cars up to the house, that there was no more grass growing" and "that the laundry was taken off the line as a souvenir".

And further: "In my parents' house there was a whole room full of mail and packages.

The postman told us that 27,000 letters came in one month, he became totally crazy,” said “Gold-Rosi” two and a half years ago on the occasion of her 70th birthday.
