Five games were played tonight (between Saturday and Sunday) in the NBA when the victory of the Dallas Mavericks and Luka Doncic over New Orleans was in the center of things.

The Mavericks continued their great run of form and closed the gap on their top rivals to just one game as they recorded an eighth win in their last nine games.
A first quarter that ended with a gap of 19 points ended the story quite early and the Pelicans, who appeared without Zaion Williamson, Brandon Ingram and J.J. McCollum, were not really a competition despite the close position in the table.
Luka Doncic continued to be hot and delivered his ninth triple-double of the season with 34 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, with Christian Wood helping him with 28. In the loser's game, Jonas Valanciunas contributed 25 but it wasn't enough as mentioned.

It wasn't an easy night for the Celtics but Jayson Tatum once again took command of his teammates and finished his day's work with 34 with Jaylen Brown adding 29 and Malcolm Brogdon contributing 23. The Spurs got the same contribution from Zach Collins and Josh Richardson who finished with 18 points each but they went down defeated against the team in green who keep the best record in the best league in the world at the moment.
