"These exits from the road harm the image of our country": the new charge of Minister Oudéa-Castéra against Le Graët

This Monday afternoon, the Minister of Sports again condemned the behavior of the president of the French Football Federation. She

No, his missive Sunday night on Twitter was not the result of a whim.

And for those who still doubted it, the Minister of Sports Amélie Oudéa-Castéra gave it a layer.

This Monday afternoon, the minister organized an express press conference to again protest against the remarks made by Noël Le Graët on the radio on Sunday evening against Zinedine Zidane.

A sentence of speech and which further devotes the open war with NLG.

The former tennis player and general manager of the FFT began by deploring “a certain weariness and a certain exasperation vis-à-vis words and attitudes that we no longer want to see in sport”.

After listing the most clumsy slippages of the person concerned, on scourges such as racism, homophobia, or sexism, she also criticized the backpedaling expressed by the boss of the FFF on Monday.

“These apologies were the least of things (…) I'm not sure that these words are completely reassuring.

I even find them a little disturbing, even quite serious.”

Oudéa-Castéra said he feared recurrences and new "exits from the road", "where it still trips in the oral".

“These road trips don't just create fries on the line.

They harm the image of our country, like the reaction of Real Madrid.

They hit the French and are not up to what the French team deserves, this great federation and this great sport, ”she added.

Oudéa-Castéra wants Comex help

For her, Noël Le Graët has failed one of his main prerogatives, his “mission of representation” with the FFF.

This is the argument on which she wants the Executive Committee of the FFF (Comex) to rely to push the Menhir towards the exit.

This body is made up of 14 members: the 12 people present on Le Graët's list during the last election in March 2021 and two ex officio members (president of the Professional Football League and the Amateur Football League).

"It is important that the Comex takes all the measure in a time of exchange that I invite them to have", she says.

The minister also wants to play on another lever: the audit commissioned by her ministry, the timing of which could be brought forward to the end of the month.

“The Comex will have material on the behavior of the president.

We are at a critical moment for the future of this Federation,” she said.

It thus “enjoins” President Le Graët to transmit the conclusions of the audit at the end of January, and not on February 15.

This administrative investigation has so far had two parts: the first on steering and management within the FFF, the second on the effectiveness of procedures in the event of harassment or sexual assault of licensees.

Amélie Oudéa-Castéra indicated on Monday that a third file would be opened.

This will look at the “HR (human resources), budgetary and financial” plan.
