Upper Bavaria's oldest country association celebrates the successes of 2022 at the annual general meeting and rolls up its sleeves for 2023.

Schwaig – Even small contributions are impressive: such as the five cents that Arno Schneider can laugh about today.

At that time, he and Günther Müller were bothered by the confusion.

And by "then" we mean one of FC Schwaig's box office accounts over the past 18 years.

Treasurer Schneider and his auditor have worked together for so long.

The last official act: the cash report at the annual general meeting in the FCS clubhouse, to which 65 members had come.

In 2022, the association, which has around 1,000 members, recorded income of around 218,300 euros, according to Schneider.

The expenses including sales tax for the sports hall were around 2200 euros higher, which is why the cash register closed with a minus.

But that's not a headache for the club.

Because he still has almost 79,300 euros on the high edge - and a name partner, which is why the FCS stadium will be called the NGL Arena for the next five years.

FCS Vice Günther Denzinger had secured the deal with Navigator Global Logistic, as reported by Chairman Robert Jell.

Mayor Bernhard Mücke was also impressed and announced with a grin that "the municipality would ask the FCS about the money".

The Oberdinger community leader himself threw another figure into the room: "The board of FC Schwaig is 1800 percent elected." Because all 18 proposals were unanimously approved.

This was not surprising for Mücke, as FC Schwaig celebrated such great sporting successes last year under the leadership of Jell and his team that "the large district town should be jealous of us," he said mischievously.

The footballers have had the most successful year since the club was founded in 1913 - "at least in terms of the league, because people used to play very well in the past," said department head Wolfgang Lang modestly, but he couldn't stop beaming.

At the end of the 2021/22 season, the men's 2 returned to the A class, the women's sovereign district league championship "and the sensational third place in the state league as a promoted player".

In addition, the men were voted "Team of the Year" by the readers of the Erdinger/Dorfener Anzeiger and invited to the sports gala of the district and local newspaper.

"The Stadthalle was firmly in Schwaiger's hands," said Lang, "because our U10 baseball players were also represented.

At least 20 percent of the Stadthalle belonged to Schwaig.”

But Lang didn't forget the second part of the football year either, because FC are currently only one point ahead of the direct relegation zone.

Lang does not see any reason for major signings in winter.

"We have complete confidence in our squad." He is counting on the support of the fans, because there are two home games against direct competitors from Grünwald and Brunnthal on March 5th and 12th.

Training for the national league kickers starts on January 30th.

Whether Bilal Ibrahim will still be there is still in the stars.

Originally from Nigeria, he had fled Ukraine.

The association is currently working intensively on integrating him in terms of work and living.

FC Schwaig is a home for many of the members, as the division heads emphasized in their reviews (report follows).

The association is alive - and will continue to do so for a long time, the outgoing treasurer Arno Schneider wished "All the best for the next 110 years".

Incidentally, he also took care of the immediate future.

His successor, Anja Hausler, has been looking over the treasurer's shoulder for six months.

And so much should already be clear: she too will not accept a mess for a fiver.
