The talented karate player Layal Suhail Salman was able to impose herself strongly in this game, translating it into the gold of the West Asian Championship that was held in Sharjah recently, and her ambition is to reach the podiums in international forums.

Salman, 13, has been a case of excellence in karate, and has attracted the attention of experts since her introduction to the game through her performance, movements and skills, not to mention her structural qualities that help her overcome her competitors.

In a statement to SANA, Salman explained that she started practicing karate at the age of nine due to her passion for this game, because it is of great benefit because it gives the body strength and helps increase self-confidence, referring to the encouragement of her father, the coach of the national team and a member of the Federation of the Game, Suhail Salman, who noticed her talent, so Ashraf To train her to raise her level, and bring her to advanced stages.

Salman, who holds the brown belt, added: “She won several gold and silver medals during her local participation in the Republic championships in the minus 12-year-old category and the minus-14-year-old category, which motivated her to be more attached to the game, and to continue training to record more good results, and to write her name among the players.” Distinguished women, as she won the West Asian gold for the year 2022 in the plus weight of 48 kg for the category of minus 14 years, which was held in Sharjah.

According to her father, coach Suhail Salman, Layal has a strong personality and absolute self-confidence that appears clear when performing movements on the rug.

The head of the Federation of the game, Jihad Mahmoud Mia, praised the promising talents in the game of karate, including the heroine Layal, who will have an important role in the Arab and Asian levels, after following a training program for the development of motor characteristics, as work is being done on it to be a difficult number in the world of karate, indicating that the Federation of the game draws Strategic ways for each talent separately, according to their capabilities, to develop and refine them, and eventually bring them to the podiums, raising the Syrian flag and playing the national anthem.

Layal was honored by the General Sports Federation, the Karate Federation, and the Governorate of Damascus for achieving an important achievement with her colleagues in the national team last month, represented by winning sixteen various medals, in the West Asian Championship that was held in the United Arab Emirates.
