Majercik and Mende save weak EV Moosburg

He was there straight away: veteran Tobias Hanöffner (l.) was allowed to play in the first line of attack after Mario Strobel (shoulder surgery) was out and immediately scored the opening goal from Cedrick Chagnon.

The ice hackers of EV Moosburg started the relegation round of the state league with a happy 2:1 home win.
The salvation came just before the end.
Moosburg
– That just went well again.
In a weak game against SG TSV Schliersee/TEV Miesbach 1b on Friday, EV Moosburg narrowly won 2-1 at the start of the state league relegation round.
Lukas Majercik scored the decisive goal one and a half minutes before the end.
Before that, the few spectators in Moosburg had seen the hosts staggering for two thirds of the time, who mostly lacked basic things like pass security, willingness to run and mastery of the target.
The reason for this may have been that two important players were missing, Lars Eigner in defense and Mario Strobel in the first line of attack.
Failures are initially well compensated
But at the beginning, the green and yellow managed to compensate for the failures quite well.
Tobias Hanöffner advanced to Cedrick Chagnon and Stefan Groß in the first attack and hit the post after four minutes.
And Groß also missed a top chance (6th).
It was only when Hanöffner sent the Canadian import player Chagnon on his way that he stayed cool and netted to take the lead 1-0 (10').
After that, the first carelessness on the defensive was revealed, so that EVM goalie Thomas Mende had to save against Florian Tippl (14th).
Otherwise, the hosts would have had to increase their lead: Benjamin Franz (15th), Vincenz Maier (18th) in the majority and Tobias Stuckenberger (19th) failed.
Shortly before the break, the outnumbered guests even had the opportunity to equalize.
(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)
Goalie Mende keeps the zero for a long time
From the second round the Moosburg momentum was gone.
The game became erratic, the SG came dangerously in front of the EVM goal and was closer to equalizing than the green-yellows were to the second goal.
Keeper Mende, who made two great saves against Josef Ziegler, owed it to the hosts that the lead lasted until the final third.
"That's why I'm in goal, to keep things like that and to save the boys' asses when things get tricky," said Mende afterwards.
But when Vinzenz Maier received a penalty while attempting to clear the ball, the guests used it to score a deserved 1-1 through Florian Zeller (47').
It wasn't enough to win a point because Majercik happily got the puck and scored from the blue line to make it 2-1 (59th).
