Victoria Lee, young MMA prodigy, died at 18

The MMA world is in mourning.

This Monday, the ONE championship League, based in Singapore and which covers all of Asia, announced on social networks the death of Victoria Lee.

The 18-year-old American from Hawaii was nicknamed the "Prodigy", so impressed was she after her only three fights, all won by knockout or submission in 2021. Victoria Lee had signed with the league Asian from the age of 16 and was the youngest fighter.

She was also the sister of Angela and Christian, both champions in the under 47 kg and under 70 kg categories.

The ONE Championship team is devastated over the tragic passing of Victoria Lee.

It was, moreover, Angela Lee who announced the death of her sister by publishing a message on January 7, two weeks after the tragedy.

In her message, Angela writes: “On December 26, our family experienced something that no other should have to experience.

It's incredibly hard to say but our Victoria is dead.

She left too soon and our family has been completely devastated since then.

We miss her…more than anything.

Our family will never be the same again.

Life will never be the same again.

Victoria was the most beautiful soul that ever lived.

She was the best little sister in the world.

The causes of Victoria Lee's death have not been revealed.

Prior to her thunderous MMA debut, Victoria Lee was crowned two-time junior world champion in pankration, a mix of boxing and wrestling, in 2019 and 2020.

Chatri Sityodtong, President of ONE Championship, paid tribute to the American: “Victoria had the purest heart of gold and a brilliant mind.

She took care of others before herself.

She wanted to use her life to help the world.

I will always remember Victoria for the beautiful and precious soul that she was.
