Ex-ski ace Markus Wasmeier, friend of the family, now revealed her last wish.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen – Rosi Mittermaier died on January 4th as a result of her cancer.

The numerous expressions of mourning over the past few days showed that the German sports world has lost a very special person with Gold-Rosi.

Rosi Mittermaier dies as a result of cancer – Wasmeier: "Rosi was always there for everyone"

The Olympic heroine was buried in her closest circle in her adopted home of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

At Mittermaier's request, there should not be a public funeral service.

"She didn't want any hustle and bustle," revealed Wasmeier, who will also be one of the guests at the funeral service.

Five months ago, Rosi Mittermaier received the cancer diagnosis.

Despite the lack of hope for a cure, the 72-year-old stayed strong and regularly drew strength from her family and loved ones.

Ex-ski pro Markus Wasmeier paid tribute to his close friend shortly after her death.
