Paris FC: his injury, the condition of Charléty, his hopes… The confessions of Paul Lasne

2023-01-10T06:37:11.189Z

Paris FC (10th) receives Dijon (16th) this Tuesday evening (8:45 p.m.) during the 18th day of L2. He can count on the return of Paul Lasne, back

“We expect a lot from him and he took the keys to the truck in the last games,” underlines Thierry Laurey, referring to Paul Lasne.

The experienced (33 years old) midfielder with 281 L1 games (AC Ajaccio, Montpellier, Brest) was one of Paris FC's star recruits.

But his first part of the season was disrupted by a calf injury and he could only play 7 L2 games.

But his return since the recovery coincided with the awakening of Paris FC.

Boss of the middle who breathes the tempo into the game, Lasne was also decisive on offensive actions (he provoked the free kick which brought Guilavogui's goal to Pau, he was a decisive passer for Chahiri against Valenciennes).

Before the arrival of Dijon this Tuesday (8:45 p.m.) in Charléty, he confided.

Paris FC had not won at home since August 6.

The qualification for the Coupe de France on Friday against Valenciennes (3-1) must have done you good?

PAUL LASNE.

Yes, especially since it follows two good performances in Pau

(1-0 victory)

and against Le Havre (0-0).

Since the recovery, we have relaunched a good dynamic.

It is most encouraging.

It gives us a lot of energy and it's very positive.

What I also liked was that we had this lucidity to rectify certain things ourselves in real time on the pitch with the help of the staff.

The downside is the state of Charléty's pitch...

I don't want to make a big deal out of it.

But this ground is unworthy of a professional club, even more in Paris which is certainly the richest city in France.

It's catastrophic.

But I'm not a gardener, I'm not the mayor of Paris… I'm just a simple player who finds himself forced to take risks for his physique because of this lawn.

"Beyond the technical aspect, the lawn is very dangerous for our physical integrity"

You want to talk about the risk of injury?

Yes.

The players told me that last year, there were several long injuries because of this ground (

Mandouki, Gueye, Boutaïb, Kanté…

).

It has to stop.

There is already the technical aspect because it is difficult to put the ball down and build actions on such a pitch.

But beyond that, it is very dangerous for our physical integrity.

There are huge clods that come off the ground.

When you finish a game on this pitch, it feels like you've played three.

To come back to you, you have been gaining momentum since the restart, we see you setting the pace in the middle and even being decisive offensively…

I project myself forward whenever I can.

Against Valenciennes, I finished the match a little higher up the pitch.

It makes me happy to have given this decisive pass to Mehdi (Chahiri) who lacked a little playing time lately.

I hope this goal will call others for him.

As for me, I had a big muscle problem at the start of the season, a soleus injury, a calf muscle.

This injury took much longer than expected.

But now I feel in full control of my faculties.

You were one of the flagship recruits of Paris FC, expectations were high for you.

How did you experience this unavailability?

An injury is the learning of a solitary life, out of the group… In my career, I have already had serious injuries such as crusaders.

But each time, I come out of it destroyed because I know all the path I will need to come back.

We start from scratch.

It's always difficult to live because we are no longer an actor, we are distant, we can no longer position ourselves too much.

That's why I came to the game to still stay close to the group.

But the results were disappointing.

In the stands, I suffered.

The injury which is added to the results which were not up to everyone's expectations, the players, the staff, the president, the management, and the supporters, inevitably, it makes you think.

You were very enthusiastic when you signed for Paris FC.

Does that mean that you regretted your choice to come to Paris, in L2?

Absolutely not.

It is precisely when it is difficult that we see those who are capable of finding solutions.

The season is still long, we have plenty of time to improve and move up the rankings.

We are not far away, we have qualified for the round of 16 of the Coupe de France, I have good hopes.

We must remain calm, determined and above all keep this good energy that has driven us since the recovery.
