Full-back castling at SE Freising: While Osaro Aiteniora is returning from Bayern league club VfB Hallbergmoos, Daniel Zanker is trying to move up a league.

Freising – The SE Freising is already known a bit for giving every player a second chance.

There have been enough examples of this in recent years.

Andreas Manhart, for example, switched to the regional league club Buchbach in 2021 with the dream of professional football with a lot of noise, but then returned at least for a short time.

The most recent example: Osaro Aiteniora, whom everyone on the Roider-Jackl-Weg only calls Alves.

SE Freising: Aiteniora gets a second chance

It was early summer this year when Aiteniora verbally promised those responsible in Freising for another season.

But then - two weeks later - he succumbed to the reputation of the Bayernliga and Hallbergmooser money.

The problem: The 28-year-old was not happy in the airport community, only played eight games, five of them only as a substitute.

With Aiteniora and VfB, it just didn't seem to fit.

"What could be noticed was that the club was very disrespectful towards the player," explains SEF trainer Florian Bittner.

That's why rumors were already circulating in late autumn that the full-back could leave the club again in winter.

"We are very pleased that he has decided to return to Freising," says the coach.

that last summer's story is not quite forgotten.

That had little to do with gratitude, explains Bittner.

After all, the people of Domstadt had done a lot for the Nigerian kicker in the previous years: Among other things, they helped him look for a job and patiently overlooked some sloppiness.

"Now we'll see how Alves will contribute," said Bittner.

"Especially in terms of reliability and punctuality, I expect something, he's old enough."

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Aiteniora's sporting value for the SEF, on the other hand, is undisputed.

Before his interlude with the Bayernliga relegation candidates, he was one of the best defenders in the Landesliga and was seeded in the yellow-blacks.

On the other hand, the 28-year-old is a player who needs a lot of encouragement and care.

In the Hallbergmooser team, which always consists of a large number of newcomers, things did not seem to fit humanly.

At SEF, on the other hand, the 28-year-old should be a regular player again, because Freisinger recently had massive problems on the flanks.

SE Freising: Zanker goes to a Bavarian league team – "Was discussed differently"

However, these are still not completely resolved, as Daniel Zanker left the club in return for the Bavarian league club TSV 1865 Dachau.

After his return from a semester abroad, the 22-year-old was at least scheduled for the spring round, but has now decided to seek a challenge one league higher.

"Basically, I'm happy for him that he gets the chance," says player coach Florian Bittner.

However, the matter was discussed differently, "but that is his decision".

Nevertheless, the coach admits that he did not necessarily expect the strong defender to leave and that Zanker was firmly planned for the relegation battle.

Also because the homegrown player is always there and gives 100 percent.

That's why those responsible would have been happy if the 22-year-old had stayed at least until the summer.

"It hurts us so much," Bittner admits.

But whining doesn't help, at least one position in the back four is now occupied again.

In addition, some supplementary players who are hoping for more playing time elsewhere have left the state league.

Defender Lukas Ederer, for example, is moving to Kammerberg.

Likewise, Florian Machl and Leonardo Lechner seek their luck in deeper realms.

Keeper Patrik Heilmair goes to FC Moosburg for professional reasons.

Other newcomers could still join the SEF.

One is in serious talks with three actors, as Bittner revealed when asked.
