Supporter of Paris Saint-Germain, the Belarusian had to remove the Parisian tunic before starting his match in the first round of the tournament.

Nice try but Victoria Azarenka had to get dressed.

In the first round of the Adelaide 2 tournament, the former world number 1 entered the court proudly wearing the Paris Saint-Germain jersey.

The Belarusian is a loyal supporter of the Parisian club but her love for Kylian Mbappé's team did not soften the referee of the game.

Smiling, Marija Cicak asked the 25th player in the WTA rankings to remove the tunic before her match against Russian Veronika Kudermetova.

Without her precious jersey, Azarenka lost in three sets.

The referee applied the rules in force on the circuit.

“A player must present themselves in a professional manner and wear appropriate tennis attire, at the discretion of the supervisor or referee, during practice, warm-up and matches, states the WTA texts.

A player may be asked to change if the supervisor or referee deems it necessary.

Failure to comply with this rule may result in elimination and/or a fine.

If her outfit was rejected, Azarenka was therefore not automatically eliminated.

In 2016, she revealed the reasons for her passion for PSG to the newspaper Le Parisien.

The French tennis player Gaël Monfils introduced him to the Ile-de-France team.

The Belarusian has a weakness for the Parc des Princes and for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the former Swedish striker from Paris: “If I met him, I think I would pass out!

I adore him as a player but also for the person of character that he is.

He is truly unique.
