Rugby: the 2023 World Cup will be broadcast on TF1, but also France TV and M6

According to information from L'Equipe, the TF1 group, holder of the rights to all the matches (48) of the World Cup in France, has decided to sublicense 28 of them to two other major unencrypted audiovisual groups: France Télévisions and M6.

TF1 will broadcast three of the four group matches of the Blues, including the France-New Zealand opening match, on Friday September 8, at 9 p.m.

The channel will also offer France-Uruguay on Thursday September 14 (9 p.m.) and France-Italy on Friday October 6 (9 p.m.).

Then, TF1 will program the two best quarter-finals, including the one with France, the two semi-finals, the match for third place and the final.

France Télévisions, which owns the rights to the Six Nations Tournament, recovers 10 matches of the 2023 World Cup, including France-Namibia on Thursday September 21 (9 p.m.) and a quarter-final.

M6, for its part, will offer a total of 18 matches including a quarter-final.

France TV had not broadcast any Rugby World Cup matches since 2011.
