The Haifa police issued an order prohibiting Maccabi Haifa fans from bringing in cheering equipment in the coming month.
The decision comes against the background of the lighting of the flares in the Haifa derby, when the letter is signed by NDF Eli Magen, from Carmel District.
"There was a real fear of the burning of equipment such as flags and signs" noted the Magen Air Force in his decision and added, among other things: "Due to the extravagant use of pyrotechnics under the auspices of cheering equipment, it was decided to prohibit the introduction of cheering equipment except for drums for 30 days."
The police decision comes a day after the decision of the association's court on closing the lower northern stand in the home game against Bnei Rayna.
Now, when a ban on the introduction of cheering equipment is added to this, the fear is of disrupting the status quo in the relations between the audience and the police at Sami Ofer Stadium.
