The B juniors continue to cause a sensation and win an international tournament.
Forstern – In the Bayernliga, FC Forstern's B juniors are in a class of their own.
At the international tournament in Pocking, Lower Bavaria, they also proved that they can beat the really big opponents.
In the final they defeated the girls from FC Bayern Munich with 2:1 goals.
There was a damper right away in the first game.
Forstern met an Upper Austrian team and played unusually defensively.
The result was a 0:2 defeat.
But against FC Schweinfurt 05 (2-0) and FFC Wacker Munich (1-0) there were the two necessary wins that were enough for promotion to the second round.
There Forstern played well against Karlsruher SC, won easily with 2:0 goals and stormed into the semi-finals.
This seemed to be the end of the line, because FC Ingolstadt quickly took the lead with two goals.
But Forstern proved moral and showed stamina.
In addition, Julia Engstler became the match winner.
Their flawless hat-trick got FC Forstern into the final, which FC Bayern Munich had also reached by beating SpVgg Greuther Fürth 3-2 in a penalty shoot-out.
In the final, Forstern changed his previous indoor tactics and no longer made position-related changes, but made block-by-block changes.
Once again Engstler was in top form and took the lead.
Forstern's defense worked flawlessly, and Sarah Britzke's 2-0 lead was a kind of preliminary decision.
However, FC Bayern never gave up, benefited from a carelessness in the Forstern defense shortly before the end of the game and scored to make it 1-2.
But that wasn't enough, because Forstern's defense immediately switched back to full concentration and brought the victory seemingly effortlessly over time.
The huge challenge trophy for first place will now go into the Forsterner trophy cabinet for a year and a smaller trophy was also handed over as a souvenir.
