The Vaterstetten handball players rely on continuity.

At the general meeting in the middle school hall, Christian Vogel was confirmed as head of department.

He is still supported by Melanie Gernsbeck as a deputy - but as the only one.

Vaterstetten - The previous third contact person in this management team, women's trainer Tobias Graf, was no longer available for personal reasons - his position could "and did not necessarily have to" be filled," as Gernsbeck explained.

Manager Alex Berger had an easy time in the fast-track election.

All candidates were elected or confirmed in their positions unanimously and by show of hands.

Thomas Eck (representative: Simon Gernsbeck), Selina Wippler (Bettina Vogel), Melanie Gernsbeck (Johanna Bayerlein), Tobias Graf (Stefan Hupmann), Jonas Knott (Tina Hupmann) and handball boss Vogel act as delegates of the 331-strong TSVV division.

As a youth delegate, Josefina Vogel (substitute: Franz Opitz) represents the division in the main club.

The meeting took place for the first time in the new "home" of the TSVV division with only 27 members entitled to vote.

The hall problem was also the dominant topic that evening.

The management duo informed about the status of things around the closed hall of the Humboldt-Gymnasium, the actual home of the handball players.

"It's a total catastrophe for us," emphasized Gernsbeck.

As the Ebersberger Zeitung reported, no sport has been possible there since September due to damage to the roof rack.

In the foreseeable future, sensors will probably be attached to the trusses for monitoring.

Another report would still be prepared for this, Melanie Gernsbeck passed on new information from the district office.

"Depending on when the sensors are installed, we could temporarily return to the hall." Ideally, this could be the end of February, but probably the end of June, according to the handball official.

It would only be a short return, because it is certain that the hall would already be renovated in January 2024.

So far, however, the hall crisis has been “greatly managed”, Gernsbeck thanked all volunteers and helpers for their immense flexibility and cooperation in the past few months: “Everything is better together” is the motto in the division, which was already under the ban during the preparation period had to suffer.

All teams were affected, "who had to switch to the hall of the Real and Middle School", sometimes drastically in their training times, or had to share the hall with up to two other teams.

"There's no other way, otherwise we won't be able to accommodate all of our 18 teams," Gernsbeck explained the problem.

Only the ladies and gentlemen 1 (including A youth) are allowed to work twice a week due to their high-class leagues.

After Easter,

Because there was also a lack of precise information about a return to the gymnasium for a long time, the training plans were revised by the department head “from week to week” and home game days were only rescheduled at short notice.

"We sat on coals," said Gernsbeck.

Exact planning was not possible until recently.

"The first half of the season was a tightrope act for us." In the meantime, even the association has asked because of the many transfers, "whether we have a full tit".

The result: security was created.

"In the entire second half of the season we will therefore play all home games in middle school."

Independent of the hall, public relations work should be promoted at the TSVV.

Above all, the homepage of the "Vaterstettener Vögel", the nickname of the handball players, is to be updated and spiced up with more pictures.

The trainers and supervisors were encouraged to submit short reports.

At Easter there will be age group and coach changes, Gernsbeck announced.

It will be the first major change after the corona pandemic.

But this will probably be carried out mainly in the new home of the TSVV handball players.
