The investigation into the "Barca Gate" case, in which senior Barcelona officials are suspected of ordering an offensive campaign against the team's stars on social networks, is still in progress, and now more and more scandalous and embarrassing details are being revealed.
This morning (Thursday) the Catalan "Sport" revealed WhatsApp correspondence between senior members of the club, including the then president Josep Maria Bartomeu, in which they abuse and curse the leading players in the club and call for action against them.
In one of the conversations, Roman Gomes Ponti, head of Barcelona's legal department at the time, is quoted as calling Leo Messi and Gerard Pique harsh names.
The same Gomes Ponti supposedly leaked the contracts of Messi and Fika to the press a short time later.
"The idea I'm thinking about is that we leak the players' contracts to the media. That way everyone will see how many millions they collect every year. We will blacken the image of the players in front of the public," wrote Gomes Ponti to Bartomeu.

"Josep, really, you can't behave nicer than how we behaved with this sewer rat (Messi)," Gomes Ponti continued.
"The club gave him everything and he became a dictator who determines who gets sent, how much and why. All transfers and contract extensions are determined according to his personal benefit. Even the new contracts of Luis Suarez and Jordi Alba should be added to Messi's contract. And what about the commission on Enso Fati's contract (That Rodrigo Messi, Lionel's father, served as his agent at the time)? Rodrigo doesn't know how to read the contract at all. He brought a drug dealer to the meeting, so he could help him."
Gomes Ponti finally wrote: "We are being rudely blackmailed, all the management employees suffer from this hormonal dwarf (Messi) who owes Barcelona his whole life. He became who he is thanks to us, but now that the reality is difficult because of the corona virus, he sends messages and asks not to touch his and a friend's salary His Suarez, but reduce the wages of everyone else."
After the famous 8:2 defeat to Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, Gomes Ponti wrote in the WhatsApp group of the board members: "We have to throw this son of a bitch", referring to Gerard Pique, and attacking Sergio Busquets who refused to cut his salary.
"Players like him have no value in the market and it is impossible to transfer them to any team. He should be kicked out with minimal compensation, and forget that he was at this club at all."
