The “Mammuts” play against Geretsried and Königsbrunn in the Bayernliga.

Even if the championship round is reached, Coach Ratberger does not want to see a Larifari.

Schongau – Four Bayernliga teams have qualified early for the championship round because they can no longer slip out of the top eight.

This also includes the "mammoths" of EA Schongau after the 4:2 against the "Peißenberg Miners".

The EAS also wants to approach the remaining four games with the necessary seriousness.

The main round placement in the play-offs in terms of "home advantage" could play a role.

"We want to get some decent points in all four games.

It's definitely not going to be a show," says EAS coach Markus Ratberger.

It is also about avoiding any allegations of distortion of competition.

In this respect, "we don't want to be accused of anything," says Ratberger.

The opponent in the home game on Friday (8 p.m.), the "River Rats" of ESC Geretsried, still have a small chance of escaping the relegation round.

"They will be highly motivated when we play," Ratberger expects a difficult game.

Under Stefan Roth, a good friend of Ratberger's, things didn't go very well for Geretsried at the beginning of the season.

The sporting rather weak balance was ultimately not the trigger why the Peissenberger resigned at the end of October.

Family reasons were the deciding factor.

The “River Rats” brought in Hans Tauber as their new coach.

"They got better after the change of coach," says Ratberger about the tenth-placed team that EAS defeated 7-3 in the first leg.

The best scorer for the Geretsrieders is Ondrej Horvath, who collected 29 points (13 goals/16 assists) despite an injury break.

Behind him is Florian Strobl with 27 points (10 goals/17 assists).

By the way: everything from the region is also available in our regular Schongau newsletter.

And in our Weilheim-Penzberg newsletter.

Looking back at the championship round, Ratberger says: "We mustn't make the mistake of underestimating our opponents." There is no danger on Sunday (6 p.m.) in the away game against EHC Königsbrunn.

The "Penguine" are in second place with one point more on their account, directly ahead of the EAS.

"It will definitely be a nice game at eye level," says Ratberger.

At the EHC, Marco Sternheimer stands out with 59 points (31 goals/28 assists) - he is also number one in the league.

In addition, the Königsbrunners have one of the best goalies in the league in Stefan Vajs.

EAS keeper Daniel Blankenburg doesn't have to hide either with only slightly worse statistical values.

"Both teams have proven their strengths this season, we hope to be able to repeat the 2-1 win from the first leg," explains Ratberger.

With the exception of the long-term injured Samy Paré, Fritz Weinfurtner and Florian Seelmann, the Schongau team can draw on plenty of personnel.

"Everyone now has the chance to show themselves again before the intermediate round," said Ratberger.
