The "Peißenberg Miners" meet EHC Waldkraiburg and EC Pfaffenhofen in the Bayernliga.

Coach Sepp Staltmayr has a crystal-clear specification for the team.

Peißenberg – The “Peißenberg Miners” needed some time until the 2:4 derby defeat at EA Schongau last Friday was digested.

"Defeats are part of sport, they're annoying, but it doesn't help to mourn something," said "Miners" coach Sepp Staltmayr, looking ahead again.

And that promises two solvable tasks for the Peissenbergers this weekend, as they are twice against teams from the depths of the Bayernliga table.

This Friday (8 p.m.) the “Miners” are guests at EHC Waldkraiburg, in 13th place in the table.

On Sunday (5.45 p.m.), the tail light, the EC Pfaffenhofen, comes to the market town.

"These are two opponents that we have to beat," Staltmayr doesn't want to beat about the bush.

A win would be enough for the "Miners" to secure entry into the championship round, but that would not be enough for Staltmayr.

He is hoping for the full haul – it would be the first time since mid-November that the Peißenberg team have had a “perfect weekend”.

Staltmayr is already thinking ahead: "We want to win all four remaining games to keep our concentration high and to be prepared for the next round." The opponents Waldkraiburg and Pfaffenhofen have known for weeks that they have to play in the relegation round.

"We shouldn't underestimate either of them, after all they have nothing to lose," says Staltmayr.

The Waldkraiburgers, who started the season with early praise, have been disappointing across the board so far.

A change of coach is still in preparation, Markus Berwanger replaced the Piskunov brothers behind the gang, which brought relatively little.

The EHC, which has always finished in the top five for the past three seasons, never really gained momentum.

Although the Waldkraiburgers have an experienced team with good individual players, they only managed six wins in 24 games.

In the first leg, however, the EHC made life difficult for the "Miners".

Ultimately, the Peissenbergers won 3:1.

"Miners": Comeback of goalscorer Niko Fissekis?

The first comparison with Pfaffenhofen ended much clearer.

The men from the Ammer shot down the ECP, which was extremely weak at the time, with a score of 14:3.

"No matter how the first leg turned out, we have to be ready from the start against Pfaffenhofen and play our game for 60 minutes," says Staltmayr.

In the game there is a reunion with Jonathan Kornreder, who was Peißenberger's second goalkeeper before the season before moving to the ECP.

As far as the squad is concerned, the “Miners” will probably hardly have changed compared to the derby in Schongau.

The use of the recently injured defender Christoph Frankenberg is extremely questionable.

However, top scorer Niko Fissekis, who had been injured for a long time, may return to the team.

In addition, a few youngsters from the "Miners" U20 should take a seat on the bench against the two basement children.

Matthias Höck and Florian Drexler were already in the derby, but were ultimately not used on the ice.
