Felix Neureuther was back in action as a TV expert for ARD.

At the beginning he expressed his sadness at the death of mother Rosi Mittermaier.

Wengen – Right at the beginning of the ARD broadcast of Super-G, Felix Neureuther commented on his mother's death.

On January 4th, Rosi Mittermaier died of cancer.

It was not foreseeable that the 38-year-old would be back in front of the camera so quickly.

“I think everyone has noticed what we are going through at the moment.

A very difficult time for us as a family," said Neureuther.

"But it was very explicitly Mom's wish and we were lucky that she was able to tell us beforehand how we have to continue."

Felix Neureuther explains the ARD appearance and the special importance of Wengen: "Absolutely in the spirit of mom"

Neureuther was particularly pleased that it started again in Wengen of all places.

The place in the Bernese Oberland plays a big role in the Mittermaier/Neureuther family, revealed Felix.

"Mum won in Grindelwald and dad was able to win the slalom twice here," says Neureuther.

Above all, the emotional component is what is special about Wengen.

"Reputable sport is practiced here, it's not that Halli-Galli like in other places.

That's why it's good to be here and also absolutely in the interests of mum. "

Rosi Mittermaier is said to have encouraged Felix Neureuther to go to Wengen: "Enjoy this great scenery"

Neureuther also says that Rosi made explicit statements about Wengen.

"Felix, go to Wengen.

Enjoy being here in this great setting,” Mittermaier is said to have said to her son.

The Swiss alpine village sees Neureuther as a "place of power" - power that seems important to deal with the grief.

Felix Neureuther thanks for the sympathy: "Mom did a lot of things right"

In addition, the ARD expert turned to the many people who expressed their condolences to the family in the past.

"The sympathy - really many, many thanks for that!" "It's incredible how many letters are written, it's something great, which also makes you very grateful," said Neureuther, visibly touched.

"It also shows that mom did a lot of things right.

But like I said, she never wanted to be the center of attention.”

Ex-ski pro Markus Wasmeier took the same line, which is why there will be no public memorial service for the two-time Olympic champion.

"She didn't want any hustle and bustle," said the close friend of the family.

In addition to Wasmeier, numerous celebrities such as slalom ace Linus Straßer, Markus Söder or FCB legend Sepp Maier publicly said goodbye to the "Gold-Rosi".
