A round of six games took place tonight (between Thursday and Friday) in the NBA, with the focus of the meeting between LeBron James and the Lakers and Luka Doncic and the Mavs, which was decided in favor of Dallas after two overtimes.
Even earlier, Boston cemented its place at the top of the East after beating Brooklyn away, and saw Milwaukee lose in Miami without Giannis Antetokounmpo.

A dramatic and nerve-racking game in Los Angeles ended with a big away victory for Luka Doncic and his team, after a controversial ending and two overtimes .
The Slovenian phenomenon forced the first overtime with a big three-pointer 6 seconds before the end of legal time, and made sure that the first overtime also ended in a tie, with another clutch three-pointer in the last minute.
In between, LeBron James and the Lakers repeatedly claimed fouls that were not whistled to their credit, and in the end, in the second overtime, the game was decided in favor of the team that scored better from outside the arc (the five players of the Lakers combined 1 of 19 from three).
Doncic finished with 35 points, 14 rebounds and 13 assists, and was helped by a wonderful game from Christian Wood with 24, 14 and 6 along with 5 blocks.
Russell Westbrook led the Lakers with 28, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and LeBron finished with 24, 16 rebounds and 9 assists but closed out a weak shooting day with 0 for 9 from beyond the arc.
Portland (22:19) - Cleveland (16:27) 119:113
Fifth consecutive loss for the Blazers, who threw away a huge game by Damian Lillard.
Diem set a season high with 50 points, but Donovan Mitchell (26, 5 rebounds and 5 assists), Jarrett Allen (24 and 10 rebounds) and Darius Garland (20 and 10 assists) made sure that Ricky Rubio's return game after A year's absence will end in victory.
The Spanish center provided 9 points in 10 minutes, and saw Mitchell and Owen Mobley score important baskets in the closing minutes.
Besides Lillard, Jeremy Grant also stood out in the ranks of Portland with 25.

The Celtics continue to look unstoppable, and especially unmovable from first place in the East.
The fifth consecutive victory of the team with the best balance in the league not only moved them to 3.5 games away from the Nets, but also increased the gap from Milwaukee, who lost tonight, to 3 games.
Both teams lacked a significant star - Kevin Durant on one side, and Jaylen Brown on the other - and without them it became a duel between Jayson Tatum and Kyrie Irving, in which the former won.
Tatum finished with 20 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists, and a run 2:16 deep into the final quarter helped the Celtics escape and secure the victory.
Marcus Smart added 16, 10 assists and 6 rebounds, while Kyrie Irving, on the other hand, finished with 24 points, but with poor percentages (9 of 24 from the field, 3 of 11 from three).
Miami (20:23) - Milwaukee (15:27) 102:108
Both teams showed up with severely lacking rosters, but the Heat proved to be deeper.
It was the Bucks who were missing Giannis Antetokounmpo who started well and led by 15 in the second quarter, but Miami's interior players took control of things (18:58 hit on points in the paint area) and led a comeback.
Gabe Vincent set a career high of 28 points, Bam Adebayo excelled with 24 and 12 rebounds and Jimmy Butler celebrated his own double-double with 17 and 11.
Jaro Holiday was the bright spot for the Bucks with 24 points and 11 assists.

Third win in four games for OKC, again thanks to a performance by future All-Star Shay Gilges Alexander.
SGA scored 37 points, added 8 rebounds and 6 assists and was helped by 20 and 8 assists from Josh Giddy - who also stopped Philly's momentum in the last quarter - to march the Thunder to a surprise in the fraternity city.
Joel Embiid led Philly with 30 and 0 assists, James Harden had 24 along with 15 assists and 7 turnovers.
Toronto (23:19) - Charlotte (32:11) 114:124
Third win in a row for the Raptors.
Pascal Siakam excelled with 35 points with great percentages (11 of 13 from the field), Scotty Barnes helped him with 21 and Gary Trent Jr. finished with 19, in a game that was one-sided throughout.
LaMlo Ball scored 32 for the Hornets, who suffered their sixth loss in the last seven games.
