Handball World Cup in the live ticker: Germany meets Qatar today

On the third tournament day of the Handball World Championship 2023, the German national handball team is also challenged for the first time.

The DHB team around captain Johannes Golla will meet Asian champions Qatar at the start of Group E on Friday at 6 p.m.

"We're in good spirits and really want to go to the tournament," said national coach Alfred Gislason to SID shortly before the first group game.

Captain Golla makes it clear that the national team wants to make a splash at the tournament.

"It's nice that it's finally starting.

We want to take the next step as a team and show that we have incredibly high quality in sport," said the 25-year-old.

Germany vs Qatar: Handball World Cup live on TV and stream today

The World Cup opener Germany against Qatar will be broadcast live by ZDF on TV and stream.

Already on Sunday (January 15/6 p.m.) the DHB team will face Serbia.

At the end of the preliminary round, the 2007 world champion will face Algeria on Tuesday (January 17, 6 p.m.).
