The Israel MMA Association held last night (Thursday) the semi-final event of the Israel Championship at the "Maccabim" hall in Petach Tikva, when the popular Israeli fighter Haim Gozali also came to watch the future generation of the sport.
In the main battle, Yonatan Duzortsev defeated Tal Dayan in the weight class up to 77 kg and earned his place in the final where he will compete for a place in the under-21 team for 2023.
This is the third time that Duzortsev and Dayan meet.
In the previous two times, Dayan came out with the upper hand, but the fights were in the youth.
Now, when the two met for the first time among seniors, Dozortsev demonstrated dominance inside the cage, picking up the victory by unanimous decision.
In the pre-main fight in the weight class up to 70 kg for ages up to 21, Lihu Harari provided the surprise of the event, when in his debut fight in the cage he was able to overcome a member of the Israeli national team up to the age of 21, Uri Sarosi. Harari also won by unanimous decision, paving his way to the final to be held on March 30.
At the event, there were 7 more fights where the winners also qualified for the finals and will fight for their place in the adult team up to the age of 21.
