A monument, a journey and a six-month marathon.
It's all this that five crews and their boat are tackling this Sunday from Alicante in Spain (4 p.m., live on Eurosport).
Thirty thousand miles and seven stages make up the crewed round the world with stopovers, contested by the greatest sailors on the planet since its creation in 1973, long known as the Whitbread and today simply called The Ocean Race.
With a great novelty: the appearance on the race of the Imoca monohulls (18.28 m long), the famous boats of the Vendée Globe.
