Germany starts with victory in the handball world championship - but worries about Andreas Wolff

After an overall sovereign first half, the team of national coach Alfred Gislason made it unnecessarily exciting after the break, but in the end captain Johannes Golla and Co. got the upper hand and secured the first two points of the World Cup.

Player of the game is Juri Knorr from the Rhein-Neckar Löwen, who contributed eight goals to the opening success.

Bitter from the DHB point of view: The strong keeper Andreas Wolff has to limp off the field shortly before the final whistle.

After the game, however, the association gives the all-clear.

Wolff has only sustained a minor strain and is likely to be available again on Sunday (15 January) against Serbia.
