In the first game of the new year, the 1b team of ESC Dorfen welcomes EV Fürstenfeldbruck 1b in their home Dr. Rudolf Stadium this Saturday: the game starts at 4.30 p.m.
Dorfen – The two teams are neighbors in the table, Dorfen is penultimate, Brucker are third from last, but have a six-point lead.
"We still have something to make up against," announces coach Tobias Brenninger.
He means the unfortunate 4-2 defeat in the first leg with the two crucial goals in the final third.
"Our goalkeeper will hardly remember that," believes Brenninger.
Because no substitute goalkeeper was available, keeper Carsten Aurich had to hold out after a collision, feeling dazed.
The ESC reserve has played three games since then, with two wins and one loss.
Goalkeeper Aurich is back between the posts for the first time today after detours to Erste.
Brenninger was not able to say who the second keeper is until Thursday, but one thing is clear: "Not Leonie Edelmann, because she is on a referee course."
Brenninger has to replace some field players such as Daniel Pamula and Dmytro Isaienko and has therefore, as he puts it, “reactivated the old guard”.
The defenders Michael Numberger (34) and Alexander Rauscher (33) made 435 and 246 Bayernliga appearances respectively by 2020.
Ernst Findeis (32) collected 202 points in 357 games up to 2021.
And the boss himself also intervenes.
Brenninger (36) has completed 392 Bayern league games for Waldkraiburg and Dorfen after his time in the youth team of EV Landshut and 48 second division games.
A concentrated load of routine should fix it on Saturday.
