Emre Can makes a commitment to Borussia Dortmund: "I'm happy here"
After the disappointing results in the first half of the season everything should get better in Dortmund in the new year.
"Of course, sixth place is not our aim," said BVB boss Hans-Joachim Watze.
"Above all, we have to try to defend passionately again." That's exactly why Emre Can, who used to play for FC Bayern Munich, was signed for 25 million euros.
More than two years after arriving, the 29-year-old has now lost his regular place in the Borussia squad.
The mission "Stable Defence" seems to have failed for the time being.
Nevertheless, Can was happy about his role in Dortmund.
"I'm happy here, things fit in the club and I'm also close to my family in Frankfurt, among other things.
That fits,” said the 37-time German international.

Emre Can complains about the lack of respect in Germany: "I have a completely different standing abroad"
Can, on the other hand, was critical of the evaluation of his previous performances in the BVB dress.
The native of Frankfurt feels much more valued abroad.
“I have this feeling in a very extreme way.
I have a completely different standing abroad, in England for example," said Can, who played for Liverpool FC for four years.
"Maybe people respect my achievements differently or like me better as a footballer type.
In Germany, I've always been viewed more critically."
Borussia Dortmund welcomes the second half of the season
Can, whose contract expires in the summer of 2024, was also self-critical.
"I know that I haven't played the best football since I've been in Dortmund." Nevertheless, his performance as a whole is presented too poorly in public.
