Recently crowned in Auckland, the French number 1 begins his Australian Open against Ugo Humbert, this Tuesday morning.

Unlike his buddies Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Gilles Simon, retired respectively from Roland-Garros and the Rolex Paris Masters 2022, Richard Gasquet still makes the pleasure last at 36 years and 6 months.

Gaël Monfils, also 36, with a foot injury, has not played in official competition since last August, and plans to return to the circuit in mid-February.

Not only is Gasquet resisting, but he still manages to perform.

Led a zero set, then 4-1 in the third act, the Biterrois overthrew Cameron Norrie, 12th in the world, in the final of the Auckland tournament last weekend (4-6, 6-4, 6-4) in 2:26 a.m.

“The last time I won (a tournament)
