At the end of the first part of the season, the Figaro sports department offers you its typical Ligue 1 flops team. An eleven with three players from Olympique Lyonnais.

The goalkeeper

In the cages, several names have been mentioned but it is indeed

Kasper Schmeichel

who obtains the "palm" of the worst goalkeeper on this first part of the season.

Arrived this summer from Leicester and with a strong career across the Channel, the Danish goalkeeper had to bring all his experience to a young defense.

If he concedes few goals (18 in 16 league games), the goalkeeper has only made three clean sheets.

Auxerrois Benoît Costil and Angevin Paul Bernardoni were also mentioned.

The defenders

In our defense composed of four players,

Mamadou Sakho

and

Jerome Boateng

make up the hinge.

Arrived this summer in Montpellier, the former Parisian titi did not live up to expectations.

At 32, the left-hander with 29 caps in Blue has only played eight games in Ligue 1 and is gradually losing his starting spot.

Similar observation for Jerome Boateng.

Arrived in the summer of 2021 in Lyon, the 2014 world champion never knew how to impose himself in his new team.

Injured and knocked out at the start of the season under the orders of Peter Bosz, the German recovered from the hair of the beast during the debut of Laurent Blanc, before being downgraded again.

Not to mention his setbacks with the law.

By his absence, Presnel Kimpembe is sorely lacking at Paris Saint-Germain.

Unlike his captain Marquinhos, also named among the flops, unrecognizable for many weeks.

Loaned by Mainz,

Ronaël Pierre-Gabriel

does not bring all the satisfaction expected on the Strasbourg right lane.

The young 24-year-old defender is also paying for a Strasbourg defense among the worst in Ligue 1. On his counterpart on the left, we find

Youssouf Koné

.

Loaned by Lyon to Ajaccio, the defender does not even manage to impose himself within the Corsican club.

Only seven league games since the start of the season.

Melvin Bard and Thomas Delaine also collected votes.

Midfielders

Two players make up the double pivot of a team that we will have in 4-2-3-1.

Returning to Lyon this summer,

Corentin Tolisso

is only the ghost of the player we knew during his first visit to the Rhône (2013-2017).

Always embarrassed by his body, the French international has had physical glitches this season.

But when his body leaves him alone, the former Bavarian does not influence his team's game more than that.

No goals, no assists in 12 Ligue 1 games and leadership left in the locker room.

Gerson

completes the midfield.

Yet a strong man for OM last season, the Brazilian midfielder experienced a complete downgrade under the orders of Igor Tudor.

Swept away in several positions by the Croatian, the left-hander only played 420 minutes in Ligue 1, before returning to Brazil.

Gerson transferred to Flamengo in disaster during this winter transfer window.

The neo-Lensois Adrien Thomasson and the Parisian Renato Sanches also cited among the flops.

The offensive elements

On the right of our attack,

Ludovic Blas

was the most in demand.

Sparkling last season with 15 goals in 41 games, the Canary has only found the net twice this season in 18 Ligue 1 games. Beyond his meager statistics, the Nantes vice-captain has lost ground influence.

Houssem Aouar

takes the left flank.

Third Lyonnais of this eleven of the flops, the midfielder, who finally chose the Algerian selection, has had physical problems this season.

Another one in Lyon.

Only seven assists for a single goal this season, and far too little influence.

Takumi Minamino

occupies the axis of this team, in support of the attacker.

The Japanese international, who arrived on the Rock this summer from Liverpool, does not find his place in the Monegasque team.

Most often a substitute, the former Reds player has had several positions without much success since his arrival in France.

Ten league games for a single goal scored.

The Parisian Carlos Soler, the Lensois Alexis Claude-Maurice and the Rennais Jérémy Doku also obtained votes.

Striker

Strasbourg center-forward

Ludovic Ajorque

completes this attack, he too has not been spared from injury since the start of the season.

The 28-year-old striker has still played 13 games with the RCSA since the start of the season, for only one achievement.

Far too little for an attacker of his caliber.

OGC Nice strikers Gaëtan Laborde and Andy Delort, as well as PSG striker Hugo Ekitike were also mentioned.
