A decision in the Youssoufa Moukoko case has been pending for months: the contract with the top talent from Dortmund expires in the summer.

The club finally wants clarity.

Munich / Dortmund - A decision will be made - promptly.

Borussia Dortmund has given its super talent Youssoufa Moukoko (18) an ultimatum regarding a possible contract extension.

For weeks, the topic has dominated the environment of the Revierklub.

Sports director Sebastian Kehl made it clear that the speculation will soon come to an end.

"Youssoufa and his agents know we're expecting a decision this week as we want to have the issue resolved before matchday one.

So that the boy can devote himself entirely to the sporting challenges.” Kehl explained this in an interview with

Kicker

.

Moukoko is the youngest Bundesliga and Champions League player and goalscorer, the youngest German international and the youngest World Cup participant of all time.

"Youssoufa can now accept this offer - or we will part ways"

Kehl reveals what's on the table for Moukoko: "We've put together a very attractive offer that gives him a lot of room for development.

That should lead to a decision.

He has to meet those around him and his advisor.”

Kehl continues: "Youssoufa can now accept this offer and commit to Borussia Dortmund - or we will go our separate ways.

I would wish that he would choose us because he has not yet finished his development and I see huge potential in him.

But there are limits for us as a club.

And we have shown these limits.

Now it's up to him to confess in a timely manner."

Dortmund wants to keep Moukoko - but not at any price.

“Youssoufa is a great boy.

He's been with us at the club for almost seven years, we trained and developed him.

With us he became a professional and a national player.

He received an incredible amount of support from us and worked hard himself to be successful, says Kehl.

And further: The club has "been trying for many months to extend his contract because we are absolutely convinced that this club and this constellation are right for Youssoufa's sporting perspective".

Is FC Bayern still rethinking?

Moukoko probably before leaving Dortmund

That sounds a bit like BVB wanting to rip the band-aid off quickly - so if a separation is already pending, there should at least be clarity quickly.

Should Moukoko decide against Dortmund, this should become public in the coming days.

But against Dortmund would also mean – for another club.

FC Bayern was also in the draw for Moukoko.

At the end of November, however, the

reported that those responsible at FCB spoke out against a Moukoko transfer, although they had dealt with the young national player.

Nevertheless, one will “not attack”.

Moukoko already had a prominent supporter in Munich: DFB captain Manuel Neuer asked him boldly to make a change at a national team press conference with "Come to Bayern".

But where then?

It is considered certain that Moukoko does not want to change within the Bundesliga.

He is already associated with numerous top clubs in Europe, such as Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Manchester United.

Meanwhile, another Bayern transfer has burst: Alexander Nübel will stay in Monaco in the winter.
